The 5th edition of North America Week, organized by the Northeast Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce Mexico (AmCham), brought together business leaders, economic development organizations, and government representatives from Mexico and the United States in Monterrey. The forum consolidated the city as a strategic platform for binational dialogue, with a vision of building a more competitive region toward 2026.

Harlingen EDC: binational drive from South Texas

Within this framework, the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (Harlingen EDC) played a prominent role, reaffirming its position as a catalyst for growth in South Texas. The organization promoted Harlingen as an attractive destination for industrial expansion and foreign direct investment, while strengthening ties with economic development counterparts across North America.

Harlingen’s delegation emphasized opportunities for cross-border cooperation and showcased the city’s role as a gateway to binational supply chains. Its presence underlined how South Texas has become a vital connector for regional integration with Mexico.

A continental agenda

The event included more than 200 binational B2B connections, the participation of over 15 economic development organizations, and representation from the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey. The program also featured the 2025 Inter-Chamber Cocktail, which gathered more than 130 executives and representatives from seven international chambers, reinforcing Monterrey’s role as a hub for networking and global collaboration.

Sessions such as “Regional Prosperity: Success Stories of North American Integration” and “Made in Mexico, Bigger in Texas” highlighted how co-production and binational trade are generating shared prosperity. Leaders from Texas EDCs and Mexican companies with operations in the U.S. underscored the importance of trust and collaboration as the foundation for attracting further investment into the region.

A shared vision of integration

Harlingen’s participation at North America Week 2025 reinforced its commitment to cross-border cooperation. With a clear message—North America is more competitive when it works as one team—the city positioned itself as a strategic player in advancing a shared platform for economic growth.
