Elizabeth Suarez Appointed Joint CEO of MEDC and McAllen Chamber of Commerce

The McAllen Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce have appointed Elizabeth Suarez as their joint CEO, a historic decision that ushers in "a new era for McAllen," fostering greater synergy between business advocacy, economic growth, and tourism promotion.
“The appointment of Elizabeth Suarez as the joint CEO of the MEDC and the Chamber of Commerce represents a significant milestone for McAllen, reflecting a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and economic development,” the MEDC announced in a statement.
Under Suarez’s leadership, both organizations will work together to leverage their strengths and resources to attract new businesses, support existing enterprises, and promote McAllen as a premier destination for both business and leisure.
“With Suarez at the helm, the MEDC and the Chamber of Commerce are poised to elevate McAllen’s economic advancement to new heights. They will focus on streamlining efforts, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering community impact,” the statement added.
One of Suarez’s initial actions will be to collaborate with the boards of both organizations to align strategic goals and ensure a seamless transition.
She will also continue engaging with city officials, business leaders, and the McAllen community to gather input and feedback on future initiatives.

To take on her new role, Elizabeth Suarez brings a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in public service, during which she held key positions at McAllen International Airport and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.

- Revitalizing McAllen’s Downtown Area.
- Leadership as CEO of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.
