Edinburg Invests $7.2 Million in New Center to Strengthen Workforce and Businesses

The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) broke ground on a new Workforce Resource Center, part of a $7.2 million investment aimed at expanding workforce training, facilitating recruitment, and providing support services for businesses operating in Edinburg, Texas.
The initiative, developed in partnership with the City of Edinburg, will bring together resources in one location to connect residents with career opportunities, provide job training, support recruitment processes, and offer tools for local employers.
New center to support recruitment and workforce training
The Workforce Resource Center will seek to strengthen the availability of skilled talent for companies in the region through services focused on connecting workers with employers. EEDC said the project is part of its strategy to support existing businesses and create conditions that favor the attraction of new investment.
The investment also includes a new clubhouse for the Ebony Hills Golf Course, featuring four golf simulators, an expanded golf cart barn, improved parking areas, and additional amenities for golfers and visitors. Both facilities will form part of a project that combines economic development infrastructure with quality-of-life improvements.
Edinburg seeks to strengthen its ability to attract investment
For Edinburg EDC, integrating workforce services and community improvements within the same project will help strengthen the city’s competitiveness by expanding resources available to the workforce and providing direct support to companies that require trained personnel for their operations.
The project also involves Gerlach Builders and Raine Architects, along with the Edinburg City Council, the EEDC Board of Directors, and community partners. The new facilities are expected to open in 2027 at 300 W. Palm Dr., Edinburg, Texas.
