Edinburg EDC Hosts COMCE Noreste Delegation to Explore Cross-Border Trade Opportunities

The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (Edinburg EDC) welcomed a delegation from COMCE Noreste during a visit aimed at strengthening economic ties between South Texas and Northern Mexico.

The delegation included Andrés Franco, Director General of COMCE Noreste, and Armando Guerra, Director of Commercial Intelligence, who traveled from Monterrey to engage with local leaders and explore opportunities for deeper regional collaboration.

Dialogue on Trade and Industrial Activity

During the visit, City of Edinburg Mayor Omar Ochoa, Edinburg EDC Executive Director Raudel Garza, and members of the EEDC team met with the COMCE Noreste representatives to discuss current industrial activity in the region, cross-border trade trends, and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two markets.

The conversation highlighted the growing importance of coordination between economic development organizations and international trade groups as companies continue expanding their operations across the U.S.–Mexico corridor.

Showcasing Edinburg’s Growth and Business Environment

As part of the visit, the COMCE Noreste delegation toured the city to gain firsthand insight into Edinburg’s economic growth, development projects, and business environment. The tour offered an overview of the city’s expanding industrial and commercial landscape, as well as the opportunities available for companies seeking to operate in South Texas.
