COSTEP strengthens regional connectivity through Pathways for Trade Site Tours

In line with its mission to drive economic growth through promotion, investment attraction and business development, the Council for South Texas Economic Progress (COSTEP) participated as a sponsor of the Site Tours at Pathways for Trade 2026, organized by the Laredo Economic Development Corporation. The activity allowed symposium participants to gain a firsthand look at part of the infrastructure and operations connecting the Rio South Texas Region with international markets.

As part of the event’s 33rd edition, the tours included the Laredo-Colombia Solidarity International Bridge, Mission Produce and the World Trade Bridge, three locations linked to freight movement and North American supply chains. Through this initiative, COSTEP helped bring attendees closer to the operations that support cross-border trade.

Border infrastructure connects Rio South Texas with supply chains

The program provided a practical perspective on the importance of connectivity between border infrastructure, logistics and industry. For COSTEP, these types of activities represent an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among businesses, organizations and communities involved in the region’s economic development.

The organization highlighted that these connections are essential to support business growth and strengthen the role of the Rio South Texas Region in international trade. Its participation as a sponsor of the Site Tours aligned with the focus of Pathways for Trade 2026, whose central theme is “Connecting the Americas: Infrastructure, Industry, Innovation.”

Through this support, COSTEP reaffirmed its participation in initiatives that promote knowledge exchange, regional collaboration and a greater understanding of the infrastructure that sustains supply chains between Mexico and the United States.
