Companies and Jobs for McAllen y Reynosa

LThe McAllen Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) had a good year of work in investment promotion during 2019. In this 2020, and thanks to the work done, several projects were consolidated.
Janie Cavazos, vice president of MEDC, gave an overview of what they have done in promotion and what is expected in investment for the McAllen, Texas and Reynosa, Tamaulipas area.
MCALLEN PROJECTS
Some projects in McAlllen are - for example - the UPS company, which will have a 72,000 square foot building and will generate 33 to 255 new jobs. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2020.
Sekar is another company located in Bentsen and Militar Street, and will have 100,000 square feet, will create 50 to 200 jobs; This company will have its inaugural ribbon cutting ceremony in the coming months.
Merca Corp. is a 132,000 square foot project and will generate 120 new jobs. The City of McAllen will also receive a Call Center that will be located south of Jackson Street and will create 850 jobs in an infrastructure of 42,328 square feet.
Other projects that MEDC is working on involve an estimated investment capital of $ 119 million, as well as 773,207 square feet of infrastructure and the creation of 1,572 new jobs.
The turns of the companies of these projects range from cold warehouses, data centers, warehouses for distribution, aerospace industry, among others.
REYNOSA PROJECTS
The border city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, has projects that together amount to 185,620 square feet and the generation of 1,300 new jobs.
On the Mexican side, specifically in Reynosa, projects are also contemplated in various industrial parks.
One of the projects is the Indo Mims company, which will be located in the Prologis Puente Pharr Park. The infrastructure will be 35,000 square feet and the creation of 150 new jobs. The turn of the company is the manufacture of metal parts.
M2 Global is a company that will be located in Maquilpark, will have 16,000 square feet and 150 new employees that will focus on the production of harness cables.
Also in Reynosa, the Avant Technologies company is expected to be located in the Reynosa Puente Pharr Park. The infrastructure includes 134,620 square feet and the generation of 1,000 new jobs for the production of electrical circuit boards.
“We were in July and October of 2019 in China, and we saw many companies interested in investing in this region, and we contemplated returning to China in this 2020, we have four views contemplated for March, June, September and November, we will be participating again in the Expo Logistics, ”said Janie Cavazos.
