During Canacintra’s 2025 National Convention of Delegations, Sectors, and Industrial Branches held in the state of Morelos, the National Chamber of the Transformation Industry (Canacintra) signed a collaboration agreement with the U.S.-based Pharr Economic Development Corporation (Pharr EDC).

Victor Pérez, President and CEO of Pharr Economic Development, emphasized the significance of the partnership in strengthening ties between Mexico and the Pharr International Bridge in Texas.

“Canacintra is a key partner. This agreement represents a major opportunity to promote foreign investment, facilitate cross-border trade, and open access to the U.S. market,” he said.

Pérez also thanked Canacintra President Esperanza Ortega for championing this partnership, which aims to drive development on both sides of the border.

Canacintra–Pharr Agreement Boosts Mexican Exports

Esperanza Ortega, President of Canacintra, highlighted the importance of this collaboration in deepening trade relations between Mexico and the United States.

“We want this agreement to spark binational engagement that goes beyond the border and involves the entire country. Today, more than ever, we need to maintain a strong and growing trade relationship, taking full advantage of international markets, especially the U.S.,” said Ortega.

She also highlighted Canacintra’s role in promoting products under the Hecho en México (Made in Mexico) label.

“It’s time to cross borders and position ourselves in key markets. This agreement will allow us to strengthen strategic alliances that benefit our communities,” she added.

Strategic alliance strengthens binational economic development

Lilvette Santos, Director of Business Economic Development at Pharr EDC, called the signing a "historic moment." She said this partnership shows Pharr’s commitment to growing its global presence and attracting foreign investment.

"It's a pleasure to work with Canacintra and its delegations. This agreement is a big step toward building strong partnerships that will boost the economic growth of both Pharr and Mexico,” she concluded.

The event was a key milestone in fostering collaboration, strengthening ties between the two countries, and reaffirming their shared commitment to work together for mutual economic progress.
