The Port of Brownsville is a deepwater seaport in Brownsville, at the southernmost tip of Texas.
The Port of Brownsville is the southernmost port in Texas at the western terminus of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway System. The port, a man-made basin 4,200 feet long and varying in width from 400 feet to 1,200 feet, is three miles north of the Rio Grande River and the Mexican border, five miles east of the city of Brownsville and seven miles from the West Rail International Bridge crossing. The port is connected to the Gulf of Mexico by a 17-mile-long ship channel.
